Custom Page 1 Message Light Off 77E

Important: All other VoiceTrak parameters must be set to Default.

Use Tone/Cadence file: ISO228

Notes:

Transfer to fax machine. The tone table includes incoming fax detection. You may add an "X" type mailbox which transfers to a fax machine. Also add a line to the VOICE.BAT file which says: 'SET FAX_BOX=xxx' where xxx is mailbox for the fax machine. Not all fax machines send good CNG tones and will not transfer, but if fax tones are detected, the call will transfer to the extension specified in the FAX_BOX setting.

General - The Isotec 228 is an excellent phone system with many features to make integration simple. However, Executone does not have a reputation for cooperating with 3rd party vendors, and the technician should expect little if any assistance from Executone.

Programming Notes

Software Version

We have only tested this information on a 228 with D software. Please help your fellow installers and call us with any corrections for other software versions.

Tips: Programming 228

Either from the Attendant Console or a terminal connected to the CPU, enter the "G" screen and set the following:

Disconnect Code = ### Note that an A or D tone would be better if your 228 software will allow this feature. If an A or D tone is used, you must also set it in the VoiceTrak option for DTMF Disconnect.

Auto Attendant = N

Prefix = #

Attn Grp = 36 (Or whatever you use for the hunt group number)

VMS Grp = 36 (Or whatever you use for the hunt group number)

TRNSFR = #

VMS Delay = 16

Extensions should equal the box numbers

The 'pf' code for each should be = *

In the columns marked ICM Calls set the following:

Busy Y - VMS

NoAns Y - VMS

All N

In the columns marked CO Calls set the following:

Same as above

Timers: Busy = 00s NoAns = 02s

The Extension Recall Timer must be set for a higher number than the Busy/No Answer Forward number.

Tips: Extension Programming Screen

The VoiceTrak ports should be set as Analog ports and Voice Mail ports.

If some or all CO lines will ring direct to VoiceTrak, program the VoiceTrak ports with a few programmable keys to that ringing group (300). In other words, even though the SLT port has no buttons, program a few buttons on the screen for Group 300 so the ports can answer calls.

Go to the extension screen for the VoiceTrak Lead Hunt Group Number and program CO ringing (for day and or night) on that VoiceTrak port. Don't program ringing for all VoiceTrak ports, or all ports will try to answer. Make sure the hunt group is programmed properly.

Tips: Programming VoiceTrak

All VoiceTrak mailbox types should be set to "N" for unsupervised transfers.

All VoiceTrak mailbox numbers should be set identical to the Extension numbers for MWL operation.

Operation:

The Message Waiting Light (MWL) will vary based upon the type of phone set. On six-button phone sets, the Program light serves as the MWL. The program key serves as the Voice Mail button. This button is programmable on other phone sets. Be sure to program a Voice Mail key for each multi-button phone.

Pressing the "Voice Mail" key should result in automatic dialing of the main hunt group number, the '*' key and the box number. The first thing a subscriber should hear is "Please enter your password"

Isotec 228 Monitors the Call (Unsupervised Transfer - "N" Boxes)

With "N" boxes, VoiceTrak will transfer and RELEASE the call. VoiceTrak will NOT know what happens to the call. You must correctly program the 228 for this to operate!

Busy. If the extension is busy the caller should hear the Personal Greeting of the called party. .

Ringing. If the ringing extension is not answered the caller should hear the Personal Greeting of the called party. The extension will ring for the length of time set in the No Answer Forward Ring Timer. One big advantage over other phone systems: Busy/No Answer timers can be set by individual extension

Answer. When the extension is answered there is no warning prompt from VoiceTrak that the call has been transferred from VoiceTrak. The caller will be there when you pick up the phone.

The advanced Call Forward features of the Isotec 228 mean there is no reason to use "R" type boxes on VoiceTrak. Always use "N" type boxes.

Centrex / Essex

If the Isotec uses DID lines or has private lines ringing to specific extensions, those lines can be transferred automatically to Voice Mail.
