Iwatsu ZTD 4.5 / 5.0

Manufacturer: Iwatsu

Model:ZT-D KTS

Software Version: 4.5, 5.0

Hardware Requirements: M/KCPUHW-1 CPU required. Software versions 3.0 or 4.0 can be upgraded to 5.0 with 2 ROM chips if the CPU ends in ?-1'. Also need SLSB8 or SLKT8; RECV8-1 and ERCV8-1.

VoiceTrak Parameter Settings:

Custom Page 2 Message Light On 1*1E
Custom Page 2 Message Light Off 1*0E

Important: All other VoiceTrak parameters must be set to Default.

Use Tone/Cadence file: ZTD.IWA

Notes:

Transfer to fax machine. The tone table includes incoming fax detection. You may add an "X" type mailbox which transfers to a fax machine. Also add a line to the VOICE.BAT file which says: 'SET FAX_BOX=xxx' where xxx is mailbox for the fax machine. Not all fax machines send good CNG tones and will not transfer, but if fax tones are detected, the call will transfer to the extension specified in the FAX_BOX setting.

Programming Notes

Only six voice mail ports are allowed on the ZTD. Only ports 144 through 151 can be used for voice mail.

ZT-D software version 4.5 allows user programmable DTMF packet strings. Previous versions used only proprietary packets and can't be used with VoiceTrak.

The voice mail ports can be configured for auto attendant and voice mail, or just auto attendant mode. The ports should be programmed for AAVM.

A ZT-24KTX key telephone and ZT-DSS console is required for system programming. The KT must be in station position 120, and the DSS console must be in position 121. If more than 32 stations are installed a second DSS console must be in position 123.

The optimum way configure VoiceTrak is via unsupervised transfers. (Calls are transferred blind to a station, and the station forwards the call back to a particular VoiceTrak mailbox if the station is busy or not answered). The alternative approach is via supervised transfers, meaning VoiceTrak would control the call and monitor the line for busy or ringback tones and react accordingly. Supervised transfers tend to be less reliable and make the voice mail operation less efficient - even to the point of requiring additional ports in some situations.

Limitations:

The ZTD allows only 6 voice mail ports.

The only ports allows for voice mail are 144 through 151.

Item 91-20 - Voice Mail DTMF Duration Time

Use default of 100 ms

Item 92-21 - Voice Mail Pause Timer

Pause 1: Pause between when the voice mail closes a loop and the packet it sent.

Default 1 second

Pause 2: Pause between a station or trunk port going on-hook and and a disconnect packet being sent to the voice mail.

Default 3 seconds

Pause 3: Pause between packet and the station or trunk number being sent

Default 1 second

Item 91-22 - Voice Mail packet assignment

This is the most important portion of the programming. In general, VoiceTrak uses the following scenarios:

Note on ZT-D software versions

The documentation indicates that ZT-D software version 4.5 includes a DTMF packet table of 15 entrees, and the last entry (15) is is the disconnect string.

It also indicates that ZT-D software version 5.0 has 20 entries in the table, with number 20 as the disconnect string.

Be sure to use the proper table depending upon your software version.
