Toshiba DK 280

Manufacturer: Toshiba

Model: DK280

Software Version:

Hardware Requirements: RSTU for each 8 single line ports

VoiceTrak Parameter Settings:

Custom Page 2 Message Light On #63E
Custom Page 2 Message Light Off #64E

Important: All other VoiceTrak parameters must be set to Default.

Use Tone/Cadence file: TOSHIBDK.280

Notes:

Transfer to fax machine. The tone table includes incoming fax detection. You may add an "X" type mailbox which transfers to a fax machine. Also add a line to the VOICE.BAT file which says: 'SET FAX_BOX=xxx' where xxx is mailbox for the fax machine. Not all fax machines send good CNG tones and will not transfer, but if fax tones are detected, the call will transfer to the extension specified in the FAX_BOX setting.

The Strata DK series has an excellent voice mail integration featuring quick disconnect, the ability to forward a station to a mailbox, one touch message retrieval and many other great features.

The DK280 can be configured with in-band integration (DTMF tones) or out-of-band integration (SMDI interface). The SMDI integration requires an RS-232 cable between the DK280 and VoiceTrak with additional programming on both systems.

Special programming tip

Archie Hicks of Complete Communications in Rolla, MO suggests the following:

Toshiba electronic phones use the * & # keys for redial and speed dial. Archie suggests that one-touch keys be programmed for both redial and speed dial functions so the * & # keys will be available to generate DTMF tones necessary for voice mail. Good advice, and thanks for the tip!

DK Programming

Program 10-2: System Assignments (System programming for VoiceTrak)

Following lamps should be on:

Program 15: CO Line programming

Program code 0: Returns D tone to VoiceTrak on CO loop drop detection

Program 31: Station class of service (station programming for VoiceTrak)

Sequence for entry:

The following lamps should be on:

Operation Note: DND key

The Toshiba DND key returns a busy tone which is too fast for accurate detection. We strongly recommend that the DND key be reprogrammed as an 'All Call Forward' to voice mail key but the labeling remain DND. This will allow the DND key to act as a DND key - sending all callers to a voice mail box.

Disconnect signal

The DK280 sends the DTMF digit D as a disconnect signal. Use VoiceTrak version 3.40 or higher and set the setup/custom/DTMF Disconnect setting for 1. This tells VoiceTrak to disconnect the line when a D tone is received.

Call Forward Programming at each station

The following must be programmed at EACH station

Storing voice mail codes

From a single line phone

On some versions of Toshiba software it is necessary to use a 6 instead of a #

Call Forward codes

To program Busy/No Answer Forward:

We have received unconfirmed information that B/NA Forwarding codes should be:

Note 1 - The voice mail hunt group is entered here

Note 2 - This entry is how many seconds until the call forwards. The number 10 will cause about 3 rings.
